Badge Reader
Badge identification with central access management
The Badge Reader reads badges or cards and transmits this information to the building management system. Access is determined centrally. At the door, the reader provides clear feedback to the user via LED indicators.

Product description
Centrally managed access
The Badge Reader serves as the recognizable identification point at the door. A user holds a badge or card in front of the reader, after which the badge ID is sent to the central controller. Access rights are not determined locally within the device, but are managed centrally in the building management system.
This ensures that access control remains part of the broader building logic. Access can be linked to zones, user rights, schedules, attendance registration, or other functions within the building.
Clear user feedback
The Badge Reader has no buttons or protruding elements. Operation remains simple: present the badge, check the feedback, and use the door when access is granted.
LED indicators on the flat glass plate clearly display the status, for example, when a badge is read, access is granted, or access is denied.
Communication
Identification is transmitted to the central controller via Modbus RTU over RS485. The building management system processes the badge information and determines centrally whether access is granted.
An integrated relay contact can control the electric lock. Additionally, a digital input is provided for an external push button, for example, for local door opening or an additional control function. The logic remains centrally managed.
Design and mounting
The Badge Reader is designed as a flat white glass plate without buttons. As a result, the device fits discreetly into modern office environments, healthcare facilities, public buildings, and technical access solutions.
The device is available for flush or surface mounting and is suitable for indoor use. The compact design makes the reader suitable for doors, access zones, and locations where badge identification is required.
